PROPHETIC EXPRESSIONS
At Urban Life, we believe the Lord speaks to us and through us to bring prophetic revelation and healing to his people.
The prophetic gifting shared with us through the Holy Spirit has been a blessing to ULC & the local community. Here you can find some of the creative prophetic expressions made by incredibly talented members of our church. We are blessed to walk alongside them and wish to share their gifts with others.

'Clarity' (2020) by CANDICE TAPP
Sometimes you need to sink below the surface. Sit in the silence and allow the waves to wash over you. And with new strength and clarity rise again.

I Am (2017-2020) by CANDICE TAPP
He is called many things, but the greatest is 'I Am'.
'I Am' was born out of numerous encounters with my Creator and experiencing firsthand His relentless love and grace. Realising that the depth of His love for you and me goes beyond all comprehension. When life gets overwhelming Exodus 14:14 is His promise. "The Lord will fight for you. You need only be still".
The verse above is something I can attest to in my own life. Now this piece has a long history. I originally created it in 2017 and then earlier this year I felt like it needed to be reworked. I've never stripped an artwork back before. It was an interesting process. I Am is an artwork that has a rich meaning that will hopefully speak something unique to each person who comes across it. Lions can be depicted in many ways but I love that this one shows both the essence of strength and gentleness in the same image.

'Calm waters' (2020) by CANDICE TAPP
Calm Waters is a visual reminder that when the storms of life hit, and you're brought to your knees, peace and refuge can still be found in Jesus. Just as storms subside and tides change, so do the seasons of life. There is hope found here.

'Surrender' (2020) by CANDICE TAPP
Standing at the edge, not knowing what's next but having the faith to walk into it anyway. Letting go of the narrative that holds you back and trading the comfort of familiarity for your greatest adventure yet.
Surrender explores the art of letting go. It is not a sign of weakness or the action of giving up.
Letting go is pursuing your purpose even if others doubt you.
Letting go is forgiving even when it hurts.
Letting go is choosing authenticity over fitting in.
Letting go is choosing to believe you can achieve great things and doing it, even when you feel like you can't.
Letting go is choosing to grow through your struggles rather than letting them define you.
Letting go is walking through the door even though you don't know what is on the other side.
Letting go is having faith to move forward even if you can't see what's ahead.

'Grounded' (2020) by CANDICE TAPP
When the distractions of life come it can be hard to recognise the pebbles through the sand. Here you see no sand, no distractions. Just the most valuable things in your life. With the absence of sand, your life is still fulfilling but now you can see with more clarity and make room for the things you were made for. You see the process of growing often doesn't feel good. Sometimes we need a big storm to clear away the debris. No one likes to be shaken up, but maybe that process is what you need. Maybe the rocks are landing exactly where they need to for the place you are going and the person you are becoming. Maybe, just maybe they are falling into place.
